The Vigil is a group I formed during my worldbuilding hobbyist days, It all started with the creation of a homebrew chapter of Adeptus Astartes for my Warhammer hobbying where their name went from "Silver Sentinels"(I had trouble abbreviating this name), "The Ashen", "Hex Knights", a plethora of different variations and finally settling on "The Vigil". The project had never fully come into fruition, with it's many assets such as custom .stl files for 3d printing, custom laser-printable decals, and many sprues of unused gear left to collect dust. 

Although the dreams of having an army to call my own weren't achieved, I had delved into worldbuilding in which I could finally give "The Vigil" a place of their own - A secluded organisation of unsung knights, carrying out expeditions into known and unknown lands to document and perceive the unknowable. At the time I had reacquired interest in the SCP archives in which an organisation known as The SCP(Secure, Contain, Protect) Foundation would go about archiving and as the name implies: Contains anomalous creatures and items that do not follow the rules of their reality. "The Vigil" already had that secretive part down and just needed a more concrete purpose - Archiving and containing the eldritch and unknown of a fantasy world, in this case: Calagon.
